Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both weak and somewhat out of place. Doodle didn't really seem like he belonged in our world and the scarlet ibis wasn't supposed to be in that country. Doodle really was touched by the death of the scarlet ibis.

One connection could have been that the scarlet ibis wasn't supposed to be in that country and he died and I don't think Doodle really belonged in our world which may have caused his death.

The scalet ibis and doodle both had a feeling of imminent death and felt very out of place. As torien said they were bothin a world that they didnt really belong in so they never felt fully alive.

I agree with torein A LOT because Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both the same, just different species- one a bird and one a human. In answer to your question, Ms. Smith, Doodle didn't feel in place because he feels like, since he couldn't walk when younger, he felt like something was missing. For example, when he touched his coffin, he felt like mabye he didn't belong cause he was supposed to be dead or something.

Doodle was always different from everbody else and that kind of made him seem out of place and the scarlet ibis was obviously not supposed to be in that country.

Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both weak and i think that doodle seeing the scarlet ibis really woke him up and kind of scare him a little bit which is why he said to his brother don't leave me.

I believe that the Scarlet Ibis had the connection with Doodle because he had seen something die and he then knew that it was out there and a part of life. I also believe that the scarlet ibis represented Doodles life and when it died and Doodle had burried the bird, he became depressed and knew that he was not going to live much longer. It was very soon that after the scarlet ibis died that doodle died too, which can represent something with his connection to the scarlet ibis.

I agree with Torin. I also agree with Kerin that they probly did not fit in because of there disablilities. People these days wont usally make fun of, or diinclude someone for there disablilites.

I think that the scarlet ibis and doodle had a spiritual conection because they were both weak, and the scarlet ibis was lost and in a new place unknown to it much like doodle because doodle was diferent from every one else. when the scarlet ibis died doodle was the only one who buried the scarlet ibis so i think that the scarlet ibis was symbolizing his life because when doodle died he died alone and much like the scarlet ibis.

The connection Doodle and the scarlet ibis had is that Doodle really cared about scarlet ibis. Doodle at that moment didn't even care about anything else when scarlet ibis died. Doodle didn't talk to anyone after he buried scarlet, he was sad that scarlet died.

The connection between the scarlet ibis and Doodle is that both of their lives were coming to an end. They both did something very strenuous and afterwards their life ended. I disagree that weakness was their conection. Doodle may have been weak to normal people, but the fact that he was able to walk when no one thought he was even going to live shows that he was strong. I think that's the conection between him and the ibis. They were both strong, and they pushed their bodies to the limit, which caused them to die.

They were both tired and incapable of surviving in their environment. They had a connection with each other. That's why he carried the bird and burried it. They were two animals in one.

Also, both of them died a painful death. They both fell from great heights, into a lonesome ending.
