Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both weak and somewhat out of place. Doodle didn't really seem like he belonged in our world and the scarlet ibis wasn't supposed to be in that country. Doodle really was touched by the death of the scarlet ibis.
Expand for me on how they both did not belong...Where are your exmaples?
One connection could have been that the scarlet ibis wasn't supposed to be in that country and he died and I don't think Doodle really belonged in our world which may have caused his death.
The scalet ibis and doodle both had a feeling of imminent death and felt very out of place. As torien said they were bothin a world that they didnt really belong in so they never felt fully alive.
I agree with Torein. They were both very weak and didn't really fit in with anyone. It also kind of seems like no one really wanted them because of their disablilities. Doodle's brother was mean to him becasue he didn't want to have a brother with a disablility. When Doodle was first born no one expected him to live and then no one even tried to teach him to walk at first. The scarlet ibis ended up in a strange place because of the storms so it could been seen as though where the bird was from didn't want him anymore and made him weak.
In the short story "The Scarlet Ibis" Doodle and the scarlet ibibs were both stuggling to survive and both died. I agree torein that Doodle didn't seem to belong in our world and the scarley ibis wasn't supposed to be in America.
I agree with torein A LOT because Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both the same, just different species- one a bird and one a human. In answer to your question, Ms. Smith, Doodle didn't feel in place because he feels like, since he couldn't walk when younger, he felt like something was missing. For example, when he touched his coffin, he felt like mabye he didn't belong cause he was supposed to be dead or something.
Doodle was always different from everbody else and that kind of made him seem out of place and the scarlet ibis was obviously not supposed to be in that country.
Doodle and the scarlet ibis were both weak and i think that doodle seeing the scarlet ibis really woke him up and kind of scare him a little bit which is why he said to his brother don't leave me.
I believe that the Scarlet Ibis had the connection with Doodle because he had seen something die and he then knew that it was out there and a part of life. I also believe that the scarlet ibis represented Doodles life and when it died and Doodle had burried the bird, he became depressed and knew that he was not going to live much longer. It was very soon that after the scarlet ibis died that doodle died too, which can represent something with his connection to the scarlet ibis.
The only reason that Doodle was taught to walk was because his brother didn't want a brother that was different. He did it for himself and not for Doodle.
Doodle's brother wasn't mean to him because of disabilities he was mean to him because they were brothers and brothers are always mean to eachother
I agree with Torin. I also agree with Kerin that they probly did not fit in because of there disablilities. People these days wont usally make fun of, or diinclude someone for there disablilites.
both doodle and the scarlet ibis are weak. Mentally when ibis dies doodle is hurt by that alot ibis seems so out of place troughout the story.

Im confused, because once again i didnt read. sorry to everyone that my handwriting so so awful that not even i, the creator of my own text can read it.
I think that the scarlet ibis and doodle had a spiritual conection because they were both weak, and the scarlet ibis was lost and in a new place unknown to it much like doodle because doodle was diferent from every one else. when the scarlet ibis died doodle was the only one who buried the scarlet ibis so i think that the scarlet ibis was symbolizing his life because when doodle died he died alone and much like the scarlet ibis.
The brother witnessed the scarlet ibises and doodles death.
I ment to spell disinclude, if that is spelled right.
The connection Doodle and the scarlet ibis had is that Doodle really cared about scarlet ibis. Doodle at that moment didn't even care about anything else when scarlet ibis died. Doodle didn't talk to anyone after he buried scarlet, he was sad that scarlet died.
The connection between the scarlet ibis and Doodle is that both of their lives were coming to an end. They both did something very strenuous and afterwards their life ended. I disagree that weakness was their conection. Doodle may have been weak to normal people, but the fact that he was able to walk when no one thought he was even going to live shows that he was strong. I think that's the conection between him and the ibis. They were both strong, and they pushed their bodies to the limit, which caused them to die.
Doodle and The Scarlet Ibis had a great connection because Doodle was sad The Scarlet Ibis died. They compare because they were both in the wrong place.
I agree with pretty much what everyone else is saying. Maybe they really didn't belong in this world and Doodle's death was supposed to put him where he belongs. The Scarlet Ibis and Doodle I think were related in death just because the scarlet ibis was red and Doodle was red with blood when he died. I think that everyone has really sad it all.
The are very much alike in their physical manner. They both have physical disablities so i feel that they have a connection.
I agree with John And Torien because the Scarlet Ibis and Doodle didn't seem like they were soposed to be in the world. When Doodle saw his coffin He realised he was probably soposed to be dead.
They were both weak and fragile. It made them think about life and stuff. Just like the bird died Doodle died also.
I think that Doodle was felling like he really didnt fit in because he couldnt walk and the ibis didnt belong in this state (country) and that is what i think is why Doodle didnt thonk that he fitted.
The connection of Doodle and the Scarlet Ibis is that Doodle was very sick and was invalid. The scarlet ibis in the tree seems a lot like Doodle where the bird is very uncoordinated from where it said in the text, “… the bird began flutter, but the wings were uncoordinated…”. Also there was foreshadowing when the bird fell out of the tree and broke its neck which also happened to Doodle. The difference of Doodle and the scarlet ibis is that the scarlet ibis does not have a brother to depend on like Doodle did and did not have the motivation like Doodle.
I think that they both where out of place, and do to that there where consequences.
I think that the Scarlet Ibis had a big connection with Doodle. I think this because Doodle had great feeling towards the bird without even getting the chance to grow close to it. He also grew close to his brother and then it was his time to go. I agree with Lyndsey, both the bird and Doodle had to deal with the fact of being exotic and rare, for neither of them knew where they belonged. They also both, like Lyndsey said had to deal with dieing on the spot, quickly and withering away.
I agree with John and torein's responces too. If i were doodle, i would always feel a little out of place in the world. Same with the ibis, it wasnt really suppost to be where it was, but it got through it and eventually dies just like doodle did.
They were both tired and incapable of surviving in their environment. They had a connection with each other. That's why he carried the bird and burried it. They were two animals in one.
Doodle felt sorry for the bird. They shared kind of a special bond. They compare by both of them dying in the storm. They don’t know what killed either of them.
Doodle and the scarlet ibis are both very much alike. They didn't really fit in with everything and felt think they didn't belong. And they were both very sick and tried of fight for so long. After the scarlet ibis died, Doodle died. This shows that everyone has to die sometime and it was just there turn to die.
+-Thank yall so much, help me out alot
Also, both of them died a painful death. They both fell from great heights, into a lonesome ending.
